Frances Murray (Warner)
Brunswick- Frances Althea (Warner) Murray of Maurice Drive died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Bath at her home on Middle Street on Friday, May 13, 1938, a daughter of Maurice and Frances (Miller) Warner.
She attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the Class of 1956. She was employed as a Bookkeeper at S. Prawer & Company in Bath, a Stenographer for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C., a legal secretary for Justice Harold J. Rubin and Secretary to the Assistant Treasurer at Bowdoin College. In 1966 she became the secretary to the Founder, Hyde School, Headmasters and President of Hyde Schools, Admissions Office and Alumni Assistant, retiring in 2009.
She was a Past Worthy Advisor with the Rainbow Girls, Past President of Department, Regional and National Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She was also past President of the Cosmopolitan Club in Bath and of the Bath Business & Professional Women’s Club.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce Warner of Lady Lake, FL, Craig Murray of Boiling Springs, SC and Reid Murray of El Dorado Hills, CA, one stepson, Gordon Murray of Vassalboro, one stepdaughter, Sandra Foss of Vassalboro and three grandchildren, First Lt. Pace Warner Murray of Vilesk, Germany, Baxter Reid Murray of Boiling Springs, SC and Kaleigh Elizabeth Warner of Farmington and two nephews.
She was predeceased by her twin sister, Phyllis Holton.
